What is Supélec ?

Supélec, short for "Ecole Supérieure d'Electricité" is one of France's prestigious Grandes Ecoles, one of the top in its field of electrical and computer engineering.

Supélec was founded in Paris in 1894. Today the school is organised in a three-campus network, located in Gif-sur-Yvette on the outskirts of Paris, Rennes in Brittany and Metz in Lorraine.

The school has 3 main missions : initial training of engineers, research and development, and professional training.

What is a Supélec student ?

Engineering students are selected according to one single criterion - the quality of the applicants. Entry to Supélec requires two years of intensive university-level studies in Classes Préparatoires and a high rank in the highly selective Centrale-Supélec national entrance examination. The majority of students are admitted through this procedure.

Why do a Supélec degree in engineering ?

After two years of higher education in Classes Préparatoires students have a solid scientific background. The following three years at Supélec provide them with a real engineering culture. Our students graduate with the "Diplôme d'Ingénieur de l'Ecole d'Electricité" having gained high level skills in the scientific, technical, technological, economic, organizational and strategic aspects of the profession. This degree is their passport to work in all domains of research and industry.
